GOLD Star—For outstanding leadership and work on behalf of many important bills or issues during the 2002 Legislative session.
Senator Debbie Wasserman Schultz—For sponsoring and fighting for the Florida Manatee; for sponsoring amendments to restore citizens' rights to challenge permits to pollute; for sponsoring the Arsenic in Playground legislation; for working to improve the Growth Management bills and for environmental leadership.
Silver Star—For outstanding leadership and work on behalf of several important bills or issues during the 2002 Legislative Session.
Representative Larry Crow—For sponsoring legislation to protect children from arsenic treated wood used in their playgrounds, for blocking the Anti-Citizen Participation legislation, and for co-sponsoring the Clean Elections legislation.
Representative Lois Frankel—For leading the way on the Floor Fights to restore citizen rights; for running amendments that would protect Florida's Coast from Offshore Oil Drilling, and for leading the pro-environmental voice in the House when special interests wanted very little attention to their anti-environmental legislation passing through the committees and chambers.
Representative Cindy Lerner—For sponsoring and speaking in support of legislation to protect children from arsenic treated wood used in their playgrounds; for sponsoring the Florida Clean Elections Act to bring democracy back to our election process; for speaking for the rights of citizens to protect their communities from permits to pollute.
