The
Florida League of Conservation Voters has for 27 years served as the
nonpartisan advocacy and educational arm of the
environmental/conservation movement in Florida.
FLCV
is an informal coalition of activists and leaders from environmental and
conservation organizations throughout Florida.
The
FLCV Advisory Board currently consists of 76 environmental activists from
organizations and communities around the state.
What
We Do
oFLCV MONITORS ALL VOTING RECORDS AND
ACTIVITIES of all legislators during each year's legislative
session.
o
FLCV works alongside pro-environment elected officials in Florida
and holds all elected officials accountable by publishing each year
the ONLY COMPREHENSIVE ENVIRONMENTAL
SCORECARD for the Florida Legislature and Governor
and Cabinet.
o
FLCV FOLLOWS ENVIRONMENTAL LEGISLATION and
DEVELOPS POSITIONS ON LEGISLATIVE POLICY ISSUES.
o
FLCV SCREENS CANDIDATES FOR STATE POLITICAL OFFICES
on their environmental records and views. Our program of endorsement and
support includes evaluation of past records, questionnaires, interviews,
and input from local environmentalists.
What They
Say
"The FLCV
Scorecard is one of the most important tools citizens have to ensure
protection of their environment and health. It pierces the veil of secrecy

assessment of legislators, thereby promoting government
accountability."

Ruhl, J.D.

"The FLCV
Scorecard is of great service to all citizens who want to make democracy

project!" "Absolutely
topnotch!" "Nothing

the plaudits go on.
What You
Can Do
Your
support of the work of FLCV is essential.
Although
we are nearly all volunteers and very frugal, there are expenses which
cannot be pared down further:
•
printing
of the scorecard.
•
postage,
faxing, telephone, computer work, copying, etc.
